Jesus said to [His disciples] again, "Peace be with you. As the Father has
sent me, so I send you." When he had said this, he breathed on them and said to
them, "Receive the Holy Spirit. If you forgive the sins of any, they are
forgiven them; if you retain the sins of any, they are retained."
~ John 20:21-23

Sacrament of Healing -
RECONCILIATION
(Penance, Confession)
The
Sacrament of Reconciliation offers us the opportunity to reflect on the areas in
our lives where we have failed to be the people God has created us to be and to
bring these failures to God in humility and confidence that God loves us. At St.
John's, we hold two communal celebrations of reconciliation during the
penitential seasons of Advent and Lent.
These celebrations consist of a liturgy of the word and service of
reconciliation followed by individual confession. Numerous priests are available
for confession at these services.
Sometimes people wish to receive this sacrament during other times of the year
and so confessors are available in the church on a weekly basis for the
Sacrament of Reconciliation every Saturday morning at 9:30 AM and by
appointment.
